Job Brief:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Software Quality Assurance Engineer with 6 months to 1 year of experience in software testing. The role involves performing manual and basic API testing, identifying issues, and ensuring the overall quality of web or mobile applications. The candidate should have strong analytical skills, a good understanding of QA fundamentals, and basic knowledge of modern testing tools.
Role & Responsibilities
- Review project requirements and understand business logic to identify potential gaps.
- Design and execute manual test cases, test scenarios, and test data based on functional specifications.
- Perform functional, regression, UI, and cross-browser testing on web or mobile applications.
- Conduct API testing using Postman to verify endpoints, request/response data, and status codes.
- Execute basic SQL queries to validate backend data and ensure data accuracy.
- Log and track defects using tools like Jira or Azure DevOps, ensuring clear reproduction steps.
- Re-test and verify resolved issues before deployment.
- Collaborate with developers and project managers during daily stand-ups to ensure test coverage and timely delivery.
- Document testing progress, maintain reports, and share daily or weekly QA updates.
- Learn and assist in basic automation execution if pre-written test scripts exist (optional exposure).
Use AI-assisted tools to:
- Generate and optimize test cases.
- Predict high-risk modules or defect-prone areas.
- Summarize test execution results or logs.
- Support exploratory testing through AI-based insights.
Tools:
- Jira, TestRail, or Azure DevOps – Test management and defect tracking
- Postman – API testing (REST APIs, JSON validation)
- SQL – Basic queries for data validation
- Git / GitHub – Version control (basic operations)
- Chrome DevTools – For UI and console debugging
- Excel / Google Sheets – For test planning and reporting
- AI & Automation Exposure
- Familiarity with AI-based testing tools such as:
- Testim, Mabl, or Katalon TestOps AI
- ChatGPT / Gemini for writing or optimizing test cases and scripts
- Understanding of how AI models assist in test case generation and defect prediction
